                                                    FINANCE DIRECTOR – NONPROFIT

High Hopes Therapeutic Riding, Inc in Old Lyme, CT. seeks an experienced individual for the position of Finance Director.  Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Finance Director will be responsible for timely and accurate fund accounting and bookkeeping procedures, budget, payroll, tax, insurance and HR requirements.  This position also includes IT support and general office procedures and is responsible for supervision of the Office Manager.




  • Demonstrated accounting/bookkeeping and banking skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of non-profit accounting procedures and requirements
  • Demonstrated payroll administration experience
  • Excellent computer skills with demonstrated knowledge of QuickBooks, Excel and other Office programs, Office 365 and database management
  • Personable and able to work within a customer service framework
  • Strategic Financial Analytics
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to be flexible and accommodate various requests in a busy work day


This position is 30-40 hours/week.  At full time (40 hours/week) provides benefits including health, life insurance and a retirement plan.

Part-Time Therapeutic Riding Instructor

High Hopes Therapeutic Riding, Inc. in Old Lyme, CT seeks an individual with strong communication, instructional and horsemanship skills to provide direct instruction for both mounted and unmounted activities related to equine assisted activities and therapies as well as program support duties.  PATH International riding instructor certification required ideally at the advanced level.  Additional desired qualifications include effective interpersonal skills, comfort with technology and a working knowledge of Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies.

Founded in 1974, High Hopes Therapeutic Riding, Inc. is a PATH International Premier Accredited center which serves over 240 children and adults with disabilities each week.  Staff members are integral to a team that works cohesively to provide the highest quality programs for participants and instructor candidates from all over the world in its PATH International Approved Training Course.
