Volunteer Manager Position

High Hopes Therapeutic Riding, Inc. in Old Lyme, CT seeks an individual with strong communication and organizational skills to manage the Volunteer Program.  Successful candidates will have a familiarity with volunteer management, recruitment and scheduling, be team orientated and familiar with therapeutic riding. Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) International Certification and horsemanship skills will be a big plus.

Founded in 1974, High Hopes is a PATH International Premier Accredited Center which serves over 240 children and adults with disabilities each week.  Staff members are integral to a team that works cohesively to provide the highest quality programs for participants and instructor candidates from all over the world in its PATH International Approved Instructor Training Course.  The volunteer manager reports to the program director and provides direct supervision to the volunteer coordinator.

Farm Caretaker Position

High Hopes Therapeutic Riding , Inc in Old Lyme CT is seeking an individual with building and farm maintenance skills to assist in the care and maintenance of our facility, horses and grounds. As an integral team member, communication and organizational skills are essential.  The Farm Caretaker assists the Equine Operations Director in the overall management of buildings, grounds and horses.  Horse experience required. Light carpentry, electrical, plumbing and mechanical skills preferred. Successful candidates will have a strong work ethic, the ability to manage individual work projects, be reliable and trustworthy.

Farm Staff members are integral to ensuring the safety and well-being of horses, volunteers and participants.  Primary responsibilities will include nightly security check of buildings and horses, maintaining buildings, grounds maintenance including plowing and cleaning of the facility.

Please note this is a LIVE IN position.  Job duties and small monthly rent in exchange for housing in our 1000+ square foot cape on our property. This house is periodically shared with guests who are attending various educational offerings at High Hopes for Therapeutic Riding Professionals, so willingness to share common areas is required. NO PETS.

Part Time Instructor

High Hopes Therapeutic Riding, Inc. has an immediate opening for a part time PATH International Certified instructor Fridays and/or Saturdays.  Founded in 1974, High Hopes is a PATH, Intl. Premier Accredited Center located in Old Lyme, CT which serves over 240 children and adults with disabilities each week.  Staff members are integral to a team that works cohesively to provide the highest quality programs for participants and instructor candidates from all over the world in its PATH, Intl.
