Position Title
Program Director
Great and Small, a mid-size PATH PAC in the Maryland suburbs near Washington, DC, is seeking a full-time Program Director. Come join our team!

Essential Responsibilities
Management of Current Programs (40%):
• Screens incoming participant inquiries, manages participant applications, assigns evaluations
• Schedules participants (in conjunction with volunteer and equine staff)
• Collaborates with Volunteer Manager to arrange representation at external events targeted to potential clients
• Communicates with current, former, and potential participants
• Coordinates with contracting therapists to ensure safe & effective delivery of services (HPOT & EFP)
• Plans and executes annual participant horse show

Staff Mentoring & Management (25%):
• Schedules staff to meet program needs
• Observes classes periodically to identify needs and support instructors’ growth
• Develops staff to support program growth, including performance evaluations

New Program Design (20%):
• Identifies community needs that align with G&S strategic goals
• Work with community partners, G&S staff, volunteers, and others as needed to design and implement programs
• Lead curriculum development to support new programs

Teaching (10%):
• Teaches therapeutic riding lessons
• Manages volunteers assigned to own lessons

Administrative (5%):
• Conducts annual participant satisfaction survey
• Supervise maintenance of participant records including annual updates
• Prepares session and annual program stats
• Works with Center Director to create and manage program budget

The ideal candidate will have:
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to successfully communicate and collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds
• Experience teaching therapeutic riding lessons; PATH International certification at the registered/CTRI level required, advanced level preferred
• Second language a plus

Salary range $35,000-$45,000. Benefits include paid vacation/sick leave, board for horse, health insurance stipend.
