Volunteer at High Hopes! We would love them to come and learn about High Hopes Therapeutic Riding and find out about the many different ways you can help our participants.
This session is an introduction to volunteering here, so we begin in the classroom with an overview of High Hopes. We will explain more who we serve and how we look after our horses. There will be a tour of High Hopes and you will then choose the type of role(s) you are interested in.
You may need additional training specific to that specific role and if so we can schedule that. Roles may include sidewalker, horse leader (experience required), feeder, or office volunteer.
Sidewalker training includes more in-depth information about serving our participants and an opportunity to practice. This will prepare new volunteers to begin working with riders.
We Need Volunteers! for many roles. If you have horse experience, you may be interested in becoming a horse leader and additional training opportunities will be available to learn and practice our leading techniques.
What to wear
Please wear closed-toe shoes and weather-appropriate clothing (we will be outside, in the barn and in the indoor ring). If you have not completed your release form online please bring them with you.
