ABOUT:

This two-day lecture will review cognitive disabilities and discuss teaching considerations, competencies, unmounted role-playing, and guided lesson observation.

  • Characteristics, etiology, and suggestions for EAAT.
  • Role-playing/observation for addressing teaching techniques.
  • Review of Precautions & Contraindications relative to EAAT activities.

COURSE OVERVIEW:

This two-day lecture will review cognitive and psychosocial disabilities and best practices for teaching techniques and competencies. Each day will provide an opportunity for either an unmounted role play or guided lesson observation.

Day two will build on day one’s discussion of teaching considerations and competencies. Each day will provide an opportunity for either an unmounted role play or guided lesson observation.

You may register for either one or both days together.

This lecture can be taken in three different ways:

  • A stand-alone lecture for continuing education purposes.
  • As part of the 7-day Disability Module (see below)
  • or as part of the 16-day High Hopes’ Instructor Training Course a component of the Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor education process.
