Give the Gift of High Hopes

Are you looking for a unique gift for someone special this holiday season?

Recipients will receive a festive card from High Hopes notifying them that a special gift was made in their honor.

Adopt-a-Horse – $500

Adopt-a-Horse – $500

The High Hopes herd is our most valuable asset and each members’ annual care is over $7,000. Your donation will help pay for hay, grain, hoof care, and veterinary care. You can adopt a High Hopes horse of your choice with a contribution of $500 or more, which can be paid in increments. Donors will receive a plaque on their adoptee’s stall and annual updates on their adoptees’ care — and visits are always welcomed and encouraged! Pictured here is Petra, a Norwegian Fjord mare, who has been at High Hopes for over 20 years. She is valued as one of our most stoic, reliable and patient horses. Meet the entire High Hopes Herd.

Clean My Teeth – $125

Clean My Teeth – $125

Did you know horses need to have their teeth floated and examined by a professional at least once a year? Floating is the practice of filing off any sharp edges or hooks that may form on the edges of the teeth. This donation will fund routine dental care for a member of the High Hopes herd. Pictured here with the goofy grin is Parker, a beautiful chestnut Quarter Horse. Parker was at High Hopes for 7 years and has since retired to a private farm in Southington where his best friend is a mare named Jolie. To learn more about horses retiring from therapeutic riding, please read about the Equine Care Fund.

Equine Care Fund – $250

Equine Care Fund – $250

High Hopes’ Equine Care Fund provides retirement care for members of our amazing herd who can no longer actively work in our equine assisted activities and therapies. Equine Care Funds ensure that our retired horses have the housing, medical care and loving attention they deserve for their remaining years. The Equine Care Fund also provides funding for advanced medical treatments, thus allowing High Hopes to make the best decisions regarding a horse’s care and treatment, without taking away from operational or financial aid funding.

Bag of Feed – $50

Bag of Feed – $50

The High Hopes herd consumes approximately 375 bags of grain a year. Your contribution will pay for a bag of grain for the herd. Watch this video of Taylor very much enjoying his dinner! Before High Hopes, Taylor had a successful career as a show horse. He was the CT Horse Show Association’s Quarter Horse Hunter Under Saddle Champion in both 2004 and 2005! At High Hopes, Taylor enjoys socializing with his friends and loves to go for rides on the trails. Regardless of where he is being ridden, Taylor was very responsive to his riders (but as seen in this video loves his grain, too!)

Hay for the Herd – $25

Hay for the Herd – $25

The High Hopes herd consumes approximately 5,000 bales of hay annually. Your contribution will pay for hay for an entire day for one member of our very special herd. Pictured here is Aladdin or more affectionately known as Al. Al is a Palomino Miniature Horse gelding. He has his own carriage, which he enjoys pulling. When not working in classes, Al has been known to pull fence rails in his paddock to sneak out to eat grass in a neighboring pasture.
