After 22 years as Branch Manager at Personal Care America FCU, Karen “retired” to raise her son, who is now in his first year of college. While raising her son, Karen volunteered in many capacities in the Region 17 school district and in local community activities. She also received the honor of being given the Sergeant George Dingwall award for her volunteer work with the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO).
Combining her love of horses and community service, Karen found her way to volunteering at High Hopes in the winter of 2021. Karen volunteered in many different roles at High Hopes, learning the ins and outs of our programs. When the opportunity arose for a part-time role in the Development Office, she rose to the challenge and quickly became a valued team member with her knowledge, skills, and friendly personality. After coordinating the volunteers for a few galas in a row, Karen is now up for a different challenge – working in our Volunteer Office to help manage our wonderful volunteers. She has also been using her savvy QuickBooks skills to assist in our Finance Office during the week, too. Thank you, Karen, for all that you do!
