Nicole Makos is a non-profit administrator with a wide range of experience in theatre, hospitality, and human resources. She joined High Hopes in February 2024 after a cross-disciplinary career in the arts.
Nicole graduated from Seton Hill University with honors, and dove right into the workforce in the Philadelphia region. She found her way to Connecticut in 2018, pursuing her career and a life on the CT shoreline. Nicole had the great opportunity to work with various institutions, including Goodspeed Musicals, Long Wharf Theatre, Saybrook Stage Company, and Salt Marsh Opera. In 2023, Nicole earned her graduate certificate in Arts Leadership & Cultural Management from the University of Connecticut.
Nicole discovered High Hopes after moving to Old Lyme, and is grateful for the opportunity to join an esteemed therapeutic riding center where the mission is at the heart of the organization. While she does not have experience with horses, she grew up in rural eastern Pennsylvania and feels right at home on High Hopes’ farm.
Outside of work, Nicole enjoys a variety of hobbies to keep her busy and loves to try her hand at everything! She’s an avid carpenter, gardener, baker, hiker, and reader. She recently took up crochet and would greatly appreciate any tips! Nicole enjoys life in Old Lyme with her husband, Chris, and their dog, Hank.
