Hello, dear friends!
It’s VERA and LC here—your two favorite barn cats—coming to you with a little update on our Spring Break adventures. While the humans and horses may have been on break from their regular therapeutic programs, things around High Hopes were anything but slow. We kept ourselves quite busy, but made sure we scheduled little catnaps in between our duties.
While the humans were hard at work cleaning tack, sprucing up participant helmets and boots, and preparing for the upcoming sessions, we did what we do best: supervising! You know, making sure everything was up to purr-fect standards. We watched as the staff carefully cleaned the tack and polished the helmets—LC even gave a few a curious sniff for approval. We also observed the horses taking full advantage of the break. With their usual busy schedules paused for a bit, they spent their time catching up on beauty rest. They were all stretched out in the sun, taking naps as if they were at a luxury resort. Honestly, they looked so relaxed, we could have pictured them on a beach somewhere!
While the horses caught up on their “Z’s,” we had a blast visiting them in their paddocks. LC’s favorite thing is to watch the horses “socialize” and catch up with their paddock neighbors. We learned something new about each one of our equine friends – did you know that Arthur got a visit from the equine dentist?
And when the humans weren’t cleaning or prepping for upcoming sessions, they were giving the horses some extra TLC with “spa days.” Each horse enjoyed a good grooming session, or two…depending on how many mud baths they took prior! We couldn’t help but feel a little envious of their luxurious treatment. Maybe next year, we’ll put in a request for a cat spa day…In short, Spring Break at High Hopes was a mix of relaxation, preparation, and organization. It’s always inspiring to see the humans working hard behind the scenes to ensure our upcoming sessions will be the best yet.
Now that everyone is rested and recharged, we’re excited to get back to regular programming at High Hopes. We’re especially excited to greet our participants and volunteers for another session of fun, learning, and transformation.
Until next time, stay purr-fectly pawsitive! VERA & LC
