The Farm Coordinator will support the Operations Director in maintaining the 120-acre farm property, equipment, and facility-related supplies at High Hopes Therapeutic Riding. The role focuses on assisting in the upkeep of all buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure safety, functionality, and cleanliness for the therapeutic riding and equine-assisted services programs.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, takes initiative, and is passionate about maintaining a safe and functional facility while supporting the mission of High Hopes.
Full-time, non-exempt position with competitive pay and benefits.
Responsibilities Include:
- Facility and Grounds Maintenance Support:
- Assist in maintaining all buildings, grounds, and equipment to the highest standard of safety and functionality.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as repairs, basic plumbing, and carpentry projects under the supervision of the Operations Director.
- Support in the upkeep of arenas, barns, offices, and other buildings, ensuring they are clean, safe, and operational.
- Help manage pastures and arenas, ensuring they are safe, clean, and properly maintained for equine activities. Remove horse manure from pastures and sheds multiple days a week.
- Assist in regular inspections of facilities and grounds to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards.
- Support the repair and maintenance of fences to ensure the safety of horses and the property.
- Barn and Stall Maintenance:
- Assist with cleaning barns and stalls after horses have finished, ensuring that all areas are tidy and well-maintained as needed.
- Sweep aisles and common areas, and clean stalls with volunteer support, ensuring the barns are presentable and safe.
- Assist volunteers with cleaning tasks, providing direction and support as needed to ensure efficient and thorough completion of duties.
- Equipment and Trail Maintenance:
- Help maintain farm equipment, such as tractors, trailers, and small machinery, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Assist with minor repairs and preventive maintenance on property equipment.
- Assist with tree removal, trail maintenance, and other tasks to ensure safe and accessible trails for equine and human use.
- General Operational Support:
- Assist in preparing the facility for special events, ensuring grounds and buildings are event-ready.
- Help implement the arena dragging and maintenance schedule to ensure the safe use of the arena for equine-assisted activities.
- Ensure all necessary tools and supplies are available and in good condition for daily tasks.
- Comfortable and knowledgeable around horses, assisting with equine facility-related tasks when required.
