High Hopes is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Allan Louis Loeb Equine Wellness & Dignity Project, made possible through a transformational $150,000 grant from The Allan Louis Loeb Foundation. The project has enhanced equine welfare, strengthened critical campus infrastructure, and reinforced High Hopes’ commitment to providing the highest standard of care for its herd of therapy horses.
Established in honor of Allan Louis Loeb’s lifelong commitment to the kind and humane treatment of animals, the project funded a series of capital improvements designed to improve the health, comfort, safety, and well-being of the horses who are at the heart of High Hopes’ mission.
Completed improvements include the installation of two new run-in sheds, three automatic watering stations that provide horses with continuous access to fresh water, a new dry lot for horses requiring specialized dietary management, two newly constructed equine wash stalls, additional horse paddocks, and a campus generator to ensure uninterrupted care during power outages.
These upgrades provide lasting benefits for the herd by supporting hydration, shelter, grooming, health management, emergency preparedness, and overall quality of life. They also enhance the safety and efficiency of care provided by High Hopes staff and volunteers while ensuring the organization can continue delivering life-changing equine-assisted services to participants throughout the region.
On July 27, High Hopes celebrated the completion of the project with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by members of the High Hopes Board of Trustees and a representative of The Allan Louis Loeb Foundation Board of Directors. The gathering provided an opportunity to recognize the Foundation’s generosity and commemorate Allan Louis Loeb’s enduring legacy of compassion for animals.
Missy Lamont, High Hopes Executive Director, states, “The horses at High Hopes are extraordinary partners. Caring for them with the same compassion they show our participants is one of our greatest responsibilities. We are incredibly grateful to the Allan Louis Loeb Foundation for making this project possible and for leaving a lasting legacy of kindness that will benefit our herd for generations to come.”
The Allan Louis Loeb Foundation supported organizations that advanced the humane treatment of animals and improved the quality of life for people and communities. Having recently concluded its philanthropic grantmaking, the Foundation leaves a legacy of meaningful investments in organizations whose work reflected Allan Louis Loeb’s values. High Hopes is honored to have been selected as a recipient of one of the Foundation’s final investments, ensuring Allan’s legacy of compassion will continue through the care and well-being of the horses who serve the community.
