Emily joined the High Hopes team as Volunteer Manager in the summer of 2019. She has loved horses her entire life and began horseback riding in middle school. She started volunteering at High Hopes shortly thereafter and enjoyed volunteering in the barn, as well as participating in Program as a leader and side walker. She and her Dad spent every Saturday morning at High Hopes, followed up with lunch at Coffee’s. Emily continued her educational career at the University of Connecticut graduating cum laude with her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science with a focus in Equine Science as well as Bioacoustics and Animal Audiology.
For 10 years, she continued volunteering at High Hopes during school breaks – eventually convincing her Mom and sister to join her as well (it was a full family affair)! She spent time after graduating from UConn working in the for-profit sector specializing in operations, administration, and customer experience and engagement. Emily lives in Mystic with her husband Jason, and their two daughters – both animal lovers as well! She and her family enjoy traveling, being foodies, and being outdoors!
