Alison is a seasoned nonprofit business professional, with an entrepreneurial spirit for making a difference in people’s lives. She is a strategic thinker, effective team builder, connector and communicator with a Masters Degree in Nonprofit Management from The New School for Social Research. She served as Executive Director of High Hopes from 1995 – 2008 during which time she led a $2.6 million Capital & Endowment Campaign to expand and renovate the High Hopes facility, and developed a 20 member team of professionals supported by over 350 volunteers to deliver therapeutic riding services in fulfillment of the High Hopes mission. She has since served as a Major Gifts Officer at Connecticut College, and worked with multiple nonprofits as a consultant. Throughout her professional career, she has remained committed to the well being of High Hopes and the field of therapeutic riding at large. She served on the Board of the Horses & Humans Research Foundation, Giant Steps Therapeutic Riding, the High Hopes Committee on Trustees, and most recently as co-chair of the High Hopes Strategic Planning Committee.
Alison is a lifelong equestrian and an avid bicyclist. Her passion for biking lead her to co-found a chapter of Cycling Without Age, a nonprofit dedicated to providing bicycle rides to people of all ages and abilities in her community of Stonington, CT where she lives with her family
