Meet Joan! Like many parents, Joan began volunteering when her daughter rode at High Hopes. Joan would volunteer with her daughter before her lesson and while she was riding. When asked what her favorite High Hopes memory is she says “There are so many but one of my favorites is watching my daughter ride off-lead for the very first time.” “I have been associated with High Hopes for over 20 years. The passion and commitment that staff, volunteers, financial supporters and those amazing horses give to such a special cause cannot easily be put into words but is felt by everyone that has ever let High Hopes be a part of their life. I am forever grateful. Thank you!!!!”
Joan now comes each week on her own to help out in the barn. She is an incredible volunteer that the instructors can rely on. Even if the instructors are running around teaching lessons, turning horses out, or schooling horses, Joan can singlehandedly cleans the majority of the barn. If it weren’t for her, the day definitely would not go as smoothly. She says she volunteers at High Hopes because she is “giving back to an organization that has done so much for not only my daughter but all of the riding participants.”
